Remember those pre-pandemic days, when you used to hang out with your loved ones and go to a restaurant, order beef sliders to share (or just for yourself), and you'd eat, laugh, and have a good ol' time? Yeah, I don't either... but what I do remember is having my favorite appetizer, which is juicy beef sliders. I love any food that comes in a mini size because it feels like I'm not eating a lot (yes, I'm in denial). Here's my easy, flavorful recipe for you to make at home and share with your favorite people!
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef
½ medium onion
2 cloves garlic
1 habanero pepper (optional), or jalapeno
Black pepper/salt
Dried thyme
1 egg
½ cup seasoned breadcrumbs
1 tsp Dijon mustard
Sliders buns (or regular sized buns)
Toppings of your choice (lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc.)
For special sauce:
½ cup mayo
1 tbsp BBQ sauce
1 tsp Dijon mustard
Method:
1. In a food processor, chop the onion, garlic, and habanero pepper. Saute in a pan with a little oil till golden brown. Set aside till fully cooled down or at room temperature.
2. In a large bowl, combine the beef with the salt/pepper, thyme, egg, the cooled onion mixture, Dijon mustard, and the seasoned breadcrumbs. Let it sit for a few minutes.
3. Form the slider or burger patties to the desired size, and fry in a heated pan till cooked to your desire. I cooked till well done. Add your choice of cheese (I used cheddar) and let it melt.
4. Toast the buns, and assemble them by putting the sauce down first, then the burger patty, topped with lettuce. Put some more sauce on the top half of the bun and cover the slider. Assemble the rest of these as desired. The beef sliders are done! Serve with French fries or a side salad of your choice.
